remus probably makes me the most sad of the marauders (all the marauders are sad but esp remus) because institutionalized oppression is absolutely horrible and hes shunned for having a condition that is basically not his fault. and like, especially when harry is @ hogwarts b/c you know the wolfsbane potion is A Thing at that point. like there is a legitimate way to manage his condition but ppl are still horrible to werewolves based on prejudices and the actions of a select few (who have actually given the rest of the werewolves their lycanthropy anyways) even tho he is harmless and a good person.
like i sort of get why hermione became a wizard lawyer b/c even though her elf crusade was pretty misguided, people like remus deserved a better chance at a good life.
the rest of the marauders thought remus didnt participate in their first few pranks because he was super nerdy but actually he was terrified that if he got caught he would be kicked out of hogwarts because the fact that he was even there was already pretty contentious (not that any of the students knew)
